The High Court of Australia engaged CRE8IVE to redesign and rebuild its website, which was operating on outdated technology. With expertise in delivering government standard websites, CRE8IVE was selected for its ability to deliver a deliver a modern, compliant and high-performing website aligned with the HCA’s digital priorities.

The existing site was built on outdated technology and lacked structure, making it difficult to manage and navigate. Migrating from legacy repositories required transforming unstructured content into a structured format. We needed to become subject matter experts; understanding content workflows, audience personas and communication needs. A key challenge was tailoring the system for varied users by designing filters and tagging frameworks that aligned to the users’ needs.

We approached the rebuild holistically addressing UX, IA, accessibility, security, and content management. A full data migration to GovCMS ensured future scalability, integration and alignment with government tech standards.
We ran user research and testing with internal and external stakeholders to enhance UX and validate the new IA. The design was iteratively developed with the HCA working group. We integrated EDM workflows within GovCMS and ran rigorous internal and external QA, including WCAG 2.1AA and cross-device testing.
CRE8IVE transformed a legacy site into a modern, structured and secure platform, tailored to legal professionals, the public and internal users, with workflows to support ongoing content management.

The High Court of Australia is moving with the times, delivering an accessible and user-centred website that reflects its authority and relevance in the digital age.
